The Market and the Trend
Hardly anywhere do foundations and structures develop like in the IT sector, a trend that is causing high demands on the companies. Without innovative IT, the requirements cannot be met. And that affects the infrastructure, applications and processes.
The trend with the highest demands from the IT sector is beyond any doubt the multi-channel, as comfort and positive shopping experiences are at stake here: customers choose how they shop – stationary or online – and how the products reach them – by delivery or pick-up. Shopping via smart phone or tablet is a part of this, partly with scanning of QR-codes, which leads directly to a product listed in the e-commerce website. The challenge is to integrate the different channels in such a way that the customers have an attractive, comfortable shopping experience and the trader can act efficiently, but also react in a flexible manner. This goal can only be achieved if the technical systems are linked in an optimal manner and react in real-time, while the huge master data stocks can be managed commercially without delays and errors.
Branded products additionally raise the claim to generate customer and brand loyalty, which requests for agility and competence in the social media context. It is just as important to provide secure and convenient payment channels for various customer groups, including mobile payment solutions, which are quite demanding from a technical point of view. In a nutshell, IT departments are constantly challenged to provide efficiency through innovation and enable clever business models constantly.
